What to do if your condoms bursts, rips or slips

If the condom bursts, rips or slips there is a risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections (STI's) and HIV.  There is also a risk of pregnancy.

If you think you are at risk of STI's and HIV contact Sandyford Services on 0141 211 8130.

If you think you are at risk of HIV you can find out more about PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis).

If you are a female not using other forms of contraception you can get advice and free emergency contraception.  The sooner you do this the better.  Emergency contraception is available from:-

• Sandyford Services
• Most pharmacies (chemist shops)
• Some hospital accident and emergency departments
• Most minor injury units

Emergency contraception does not protect you from sexually transmitted infections.
